Let His Voice Be Louder Than the Waves

Life has a way of getting loud.

Our calendars fill up. Notifications compete for our attention. Worries replay in our minds long after the day is over. Even when we long for peace, the constant noise around us can make it difficult to hear the quiet, steady voice of God.

The good news is that His voice hasn't grown quieter. We simply need moments to listen.

Just as the waves rise and fall with every tide, our circumstances are constantly changing. God's truth, however, remains constant. When we choose to slow down and spend time with Him, His voice begins to rise above the noise that so easily distracts us.

Create Space to Listen

Hearing God's voice rarely happens in a hurry.

Whether you're sitting beside the ocean, enjoying your morning coffee at the kitchen table, or watching the sunrise from your porch, intentional moments of stillness prepare your heart to listen. You don't need the perfect setting. You simply need a willingness to be present.

Before opening your email or reaching for your phone, spend a few quiet minutes with your Bible. Read slowly. Pray honestly. Sit in silence for a moment before moving into your day.

Often, it's in those unhurried moments that God's peace becomes most tangible.

Let Scripture Be the Loudest Voice

Every day, we're surrounded by messages telling us who we should be, what we should accomplish, and what we should worry about. It's easy to let those voices shape our thoughts without realizing it.

Scripture offers something different.

God reminds us that we are loved, known, and never alone. His Word speaks hope when fear grows loud, truth when confusion settles in, and peace when anxiety threatens to take over.

The more time we spend reading Scripture, the easier it becomes to recognize His voice above every competing distraction.

Bring Your Thoughts to Him

Prayer doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it's as simple as saying, "Lord, I need to hear You today."

Bring your questions, your fears, your gratitude, and your hopes before Him. There is nothing too small or too overwhelming for His attention. As you pour out your heart, you'll often discover that peace doesn't come from having every answer—it comes from knowing the One who holds them.

God's voice often speaks through quiet reassurance rather than dramatic moments. Learning to recognize that gentle guidance is part of growing in faith.

Carry His Peace with You

The goal isn't to experience peace only during your quiet time. It's to carry that peace into the rest of your day.

When conversations become stressful, remember His promises. When unexpected challenges arise, pause before reacting. When worry begins to grow, return to the truth you've already planted in your heart that morning.

A few minutes spent listening to God can shape the way you respond to everything that follows.

The waves of life will continue to rise and fall. Some days will feel calm, while others may feel uncertain. But through every season, God's voice remains steady, faithful, and true. As you make room to listen each day, may His words become louder than your worries, stronger than your fears, and more familiar than the noise of the world.
